Welcome!

The main focus of research in our lab is on Plant Morphogenesis. The molecular regulation of plant development is being studied from several angles. We study phytohormone signaling and vegetative shoot morphogenesis using rice and Arabidopsis as the experimental plants. Intermediates of gibberellin signaling and cytokinin signaling are the two major phytohormones we work on. Another aspect of research is on the mechanism of salt secretion in the mangrove tree species Avicennia.

Our members include 'insane' (read: highly committed!) graduate students who spend most of their spare time throwing ice down each other's backs. The lab is also home to senior undergraduates seeking training and experience in molecular biology research. The lab opens its doors to anyone with a genuine interest and passion for plant molecular and developmental biology.
