The Department held its CHS Engagement Session on 19 April 2023 to welcome incoming undergraduates interested in our Life Sciences program. The turn out was great with students who just received their A-levels results, students graduated from polytechnics, returning NSmen, as well as some parents and friends. We got to reintroduce the program structure and some new additions into the Life Science program such as the new minor in Botany. 

Aside from the curriculum, students got to hear about the Department’s mission to equip our students with transferable knowledge and skills for employability and lifelong learning. Students were also introduced to the many exciting activities available to them for their new student life in DBS and NUS in general. Another highlight of the engagement session were the three labs opened for short tours! Students get a first glimpse of research and student life as they tour the Confocal Microscope lab, Insectary and one of our teaching lab. 

We hope that the interactions with current students and staff through the engagement session has made incoming students more eager to begin their Life Sciences journey with the Department of Biological Sciences at NUS, and we look forward to them joining our family.
