A Date with DBS! | Session 5

The 5^th installation of “A Date with DBS!” returned on Saturday, 5 June 2021 with a virtual talk for alumni and students by Mr N. Sivasothi aka Otterman (Senior Lecturer, DBS) . The e-event was hosted by Professor Prakash Kumar, Chair of Outreach and attended by 46 participants.

‘Otterman’ shared some stories from 35 years in Singapore’s mangroves, otters and other wildlife research, education and conservation. It was nice to see that some of the students he featured from long ago are now also faculty at NUS. He also talked about various efforts with wildlife conservation working groups, ground-up partnerships, and closed-door engagements to mitigate development impact.

The alumni and students enjoyed his talk, with exciting exchanges during the Q&A session.
