Since the release of the Science Centre series “A Guide to Tropical Fungi” in 1990, there has been a notable absence of comprehensive guides on fungi. However, a much-needed book has now emerged, showcasing an impressive collection of over 150 species of macrofungi and 16 species of slime moulds (Myxomycetes) found in Singapore. Accompanied by vibrant and informative photographs, this publication serves as an invaluable tool for identifying fungi in the region. Furthermore, it goes beyond identification and offers readers a deeper understanding of the fungal kingdom, including topics such as reproduction, uses, conservation, taxonomy, and identification techniques.
