Protein design and engineering is the most complex and exciting scientific disciplines of protein science.  It tests the limits of our understanding of protein folding and function.  It helps us decipher first principles of protein science.  It is a combination of basic and applied research, which will contribute significantly to our basic scientific knowledge as well as to biotechnology and biomedical sciences. Thus it forms the forefront of creativity and pushes the limits of protein science and technology.  We aim to design and engineer proteins with the intention of obtaining analogues with better or beneficial activity and new functions.
