Synopsis: Symbiotic interactions between species have often intrigued scientists who are can only hypothesise their origin and evolution. This talk explores broadly, symbiotic interactions at sea and introduces viewers to a myriad of interaction types commonly featured in popular media. The talk then focuses on the complex interactions between shrimps and watchman gobies that until recently, were unknown. Working with students and citizen scientist collaborators, we uncovered new behaviours that has overturned our understanding of the extent of cooperation in shrimp-watchman goby interactions.
