Synopsis:
Freshwater wetlands are important and critical parts of most aquatic ecosystems. However, their importance is overlooked in many parts of the world. In this talk, I will dive into the world of wetlands and explain the critical role that wetlands play in water storage, flood mitigation and biodiversity conservation. These aquatic habitats also provide refuge for animals during drought periods. Come learn all about these highly productive environments and their role in carbon sequestration and why more countries are bringing back their wetlands!
