Aquatic pollutant problems: What are the issues and what can we do about them?

Synopsis:
We are faced with many water quality issues (harmful algal blooms, eutrophication and pollution) in today’s marine and freshwater environments, understanding the role of plankton in aquatic ecosystems will help in advancing the solutions to problems facing today’s water resources. In this talk, I will highlight some of the most pressing aquatic pollutant problems facing us and what can be done about these threats. I will also highlight some interesting case studies globally and what we can learn from them.
