The wonderful world of plankton!

The wonderful world of plankton!

Organized by the Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore

Why attend this learning journey?
Plankton can be found in almost every aquatic habitat and they come in all shapes and sizes. Although often overlooked, plankton affects the ecosystem in massive ways such as sustaining the global food web, carbon sequestration, oxygen production, and many more.

This learning journey takes participants on an exploration into the diverse world of plankton. Learn about what defines plankton, the different kinds of plankton, and their role in the environment. Participants will also get to experience how researchers observe and identify plankton through guided activities in our teaching labs. Through this workshop, participants will get a better appreciation of this important but lesser-known group of organisms.

Who is eligible?
Pre-university students from local secondary and tertiary schools. Schools are encouraged to submit group registrations for their students. A minimum participation of 20 students is required to commence a session.
