TIMOTHY UTTERIDGE

ADJUNCT ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Dr Timothy Utteridge is Director of Botanical Research at Singapore Botanic Gardens. His research is focused on understanding the plants of tropical Asia, and is defined by the fundamental role of a modern research botanic garden: to increase knowledge and public understanding of plant diversity. Tim’s research is in three areas: the discovery, description and conservation assessment of woody dicots (including Primulaceae, Icacinaceae, Rhamnaceae etc.); publishing guides and handbooks; and through teaching plant identification and taxonomy. The naming, curation and enhancing of herbarium collections is central to these research strands.
