Research Interests

I have an avid interest in aquaculture and aquatic viral diseases, while focus on two large DNA viruses: white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) and Singapore grouper iridovirus (SGIV). Through collaboration with experts in proteomics, X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy and cryo-electron microscopy, we are able to study virus-host interactions, solve the structures of both viral proteins and viral particles. Our findings not only assist in the development of antiviral strategies drugs but also serve as a paradigm for understanding viral morphogenesis.
