Prof. Ganesh Anand received his Bachelor in Pharmacy and Master of Science in Biological Sciences from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India and doctorate from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. He carried out his postdoctoral research at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, University of California San Diego, La Jolla, CA. Since 2006, he has been at the Department of Biological Sciences (DBS), National University of Singapore (NUS) and is currently the Director of Protein and Proteomics Centre (PPC) at DBS, NUS.
Prof. Ganesh heads the Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery group at the Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore. His lab investigates allostery, conformational dynamics of intrinsically disordered signalling enzymes, and transmembrane receptor signalling. Other projects include protein dynamics in viral maturation and fragment-based drug discovery. The lab uses amide hydrogen/deuterium exchange mass-spectrometry (HDX-MS) as a primary tool for protein dynamics and is recognized as a Waters World Centre of Innovation in HDX-MS.
