I worked in Stefan Schulte-Merker lab in Hubrecht Institue in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

I came back to Singapore in 2012, I'm currently working with ALS in zebrafish.

For the project I investigated the host-pathogen interactions, specifically in the notochord of zebrafish larvae.

I join Dr. Winkler's team to study bone development using Medaka and Zebrafish as models.

My current project would focus on understanding axonal transport and its relationship with axonal regeneration, using zebrafish as our animal model.

My project interest is on the non-cell autonomous effects in a zebrafish model for Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

I’m particularly interested in a glial cell type known as Schwann cells that work functionally and structurally in close association with motor neurons in innervating muscle cells.

My project focuses mainly on lineage tracing analysis of osteoblasts during fin regeneration using a Medaka model.

I have been associated with this lab since June 2014, initially through my work as a Research Assistant and presently as an enrolled graduate student at National University of Singapore.

My current project focuses on characterisation of candidate genes seen to play a role in neurodegeneration.

Using zebrafish as a disease model I hope to delineate the role of each of these genes in the disease pathology of Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

My project is to create a transgenic zebrafish line using CRISPR/Cas9 system to knock-in an optogenetic cassette in a locus relevant for interneuron differentiation and to characterise an internueon line that express eGFP/gCAMP.

I'm working with Shermaine, who is one of the PhD students in the lab. This project revolves around the Spinal muscle atrophy (SMA) disease which arises due to a loss of SMN1 proteins.

My project proposes to replace the current zebrafish morphant model for the SMA with a zfsmn2 mutant model. Hence, this project aims to create a suitable zebrafish model, which would provide more understanding of the disease.

I have prior research experience, having been involved in a research project on synthetic enzymology and anti-ageing therapeutics, as part of an Advanced Undergraduate Research Opportunities in Science (UROPS) module.

My Final Year Project focuses on understanding the functions of 3 genes in osteoporosis patients using an osteoporotic medaka fish model.

I am visiting the Winkler group to explore the Medaka fish model to test potential future drugs for the treatment of osteoporosis.
